What makes a film great
(есе по английски език)
In my view, a film is really powerful when the plot is rich, detailed and above all gripping and intricate, the director is passionately devoted to the message he wants to convey. Only then can a film move and stem the audience.
Firstly, I believe that the plot in each film is what will have me on the edge on my seat throughout. Moreover, I find that films which are based on books or real events are the most exhilarating for me. A striking example is ‘The Lord of the Rings’, which is based on the famous book of Tolken. It is the fast-moving and impressive plot that makes the film a block-buster and a winner of a great number of Oscar awards. Additionally, the elaboration of the characters, the conflicts between them, the virtues they manifest also count a lot.
Secondly, a truly significant role in the film making has its director. No film could arouse the public interest without a talented director. It is the director who is supposed to transmit the plot into a touching story with message. Actually, it depends on how the director feels the plot, how he or she sees the developing story, and finally how innovative he or she is. If the plot is the core of the film, the director is its soul. A great example of a good director is that of ‘Pearl Harbour’. He worked over two years to make this film reality. He used many details of the stories of American soldiers, who escaped death during the Japanese attack in 1941. The director was extremely successful, because he was able to reach the hearts of most of the audience by showing them a real tragedy.
To sum up, I would like to outline that the combination of a good plot and a passionate director is the key to an unforgettable film.
